Rabies documentation is the backbone of this corridor. Each side wants proof that the vaccination is current, that the record belongs to the animal in front of the officer, and that the pet appears healthy on arrival. Microchip or tattoo details on the certificate are what tie the record to your pet, so a certificate with the wrong identifier is the same as no certificate.

Where the direction of travel changes the answer
The two sides do not mirror each other. Issuance windows differ, some documents need an official endorsement on top of the vet signature, and each side writes its age brackets differently. There are also alternative paths in specific cases, such as pets arriving from countries recognised as rabies-free, where a country-freedom certificate can stand in for a vaccination record.
